It’s not often that we get excited about a new drive-through location – whether that restaurant is Tim Hortons or Wendy’s but – today, we were actually caught off guard by the iconic pair of golden arches. Put the keys down, because as announced by the University District McDonald’s will be opening a walk-through location in Calgary this fall.

Described as the “perfect format” for the pedestrian-friendly community – this unique location is scheduled to open in November – giving those NW locals and students alike something to look forward to when the temperature drops.

“The team is thrilled to be joining the community here in University District,” said Usman Jutt, Calgary Franchisee in a press release.

“Serving the community where we operate is our priority, and we are so excited to offer the community a restaurant designed with students in mind. The walk-up design will provide a one-of-a-kind, easy and convenient place for people to grab all of their favourites from McDonald’s.”
