Summer is on its way, BC, and we’re gearing up for the warmer weather with a ton of scenic swimming spots! One happens to be situated just south of Nakusp at McDonald Creek Park – one of four provincial parks on the Arrow Lake Reservoir. The provincial park offers visitors plenty of opportunities by way of swimming, boating, jet skiing, waterskiing, and fishing. So let’s dive in!

The park’s namesake, McDonald Creek, is on the east side of the park and can be accessed via a nature trail from the north end of the campground. The trail offers hikers breathtaking views of the Upper Aarrow Lake Reservoir!

From a fine sandy beach to open grassy meadows, you’re sure to find a quiet, secluded spot to soak up the natural scenery. As McDonald Creek protects a range of habitats, visitors get to unwind in both a forested and lakeside setting!

There’s also an adventure playground near the picnic area and swimming lagoon, according to West Kootenay Parks.
