You can enjoy eats & drinks and live music in the sky at this stunning BC attraction

If you love soaking up summer views and are good with heights, you’ve no doubt heard of BC’s stunning Malahat SkyWalk. And if you haven’t, there’s never been a better time to take to the skies!

Malahat SkyWalk just launched a new Tower Plaza at the base of the iconic Spiral Tower where visitors can gather to enjoy the best of Vancouver Island’s food, drink, and live music scenes – all set amongst the stunning views of the Saanich Peninsula and Gulf Islands.

And this is just the start when it comes to new summertime events to look forward to.

“We’re excited to welcome guests to Malahat SkyWalk for our third summer season,” says Ken Bailey, General Manager of Malahat SkyWalk. “Every year, we look for ways in which we can innovate and provide new and exciting experiences for everyone to enjoy. This summer we pulled out all the stops with our reimagined Tower Plaza, along with new programs and events – offering a truly unique and one-of-a-kind Vancouver Island experience.”

The reimagined Tower Plaza will feature retro food carts, a canteen bar with locally inspired drinks, mocktails, and slushies, and a new Summer SkyWalk Music Series.

The latter will kick off on Canada Day and take place every Saturday afternoon and evening until September 2nd, featuring local bands like Woodstick, Jaimey Hamilton, Nautical Disaster, and Undercover Lover – to name a few.

As for food, visitors can expect to snack on hand-stretched Bicycle Pizza and retro-inspired dairy-free soft serve or sundaes from Softys.

SkyWalk attractions

Once you’re done enjoying the views from the top of the SkyWalk, visitors can take a quicker route down from the viewing platform by sliding down their 20-foot-long spiral slide.

Located along the Malahat Highway, the Skywalk is approximately 600 metres long and is now open daily between 9 am and 6 pm. Starting June 5th, the attraction will be open until 8 pm.

The TreeWalk and Spiral Tower are wheelchair & stroller accessible. Single-admission tickets are available for between $34.95 and $36.95, depending on whether you buy them online or at the ticket window.

So there you have it, Vancouver! If you haven’t gotten the chance to check out the SkyWalk just yet, now’s your chance. And if you’re looking for even more spontaneous day trip ideas – you know where to find them.
