Summer is NOT yet over! There’s still time to enjoy the great outdoors and its lovely sandy shores. That being said, if you’re still craving a beach day we know the perfect place. The beaches at Point Pelee National Park are where it’s at and there’s 20km of sand to enjoy. Here’s what to know about this wonderful natural gem.
According to Parks Canada, you can take a refreshing swim at Point Pelee. It’s home to the longest continuous natural beach in Essex County. Now that’s a sight to see.
“Turquoise waters and golden sands await at Canada’s most southern point! The west and east sides of the peninsula are framed by 20 km of sandy beach,” shares the site.

On the other side of the peninsula, you can also check out East Beach but there are no facilities there so take note of that before you go.
There are many magical beaches to explore around Canada and Northwest Beach at Point Pelee National Park is just one of them.
But there’s more to the park than just the beach. You can enjoy a peaceful canoe or kayak trip in its internationally recognized wetlands; enjoy over 12 km of hiking, walking, and cycling trails and watch as the sun sets over the horizon.
This sounds like a fun adventure just waiting to happen! So gather up your closest pals and embark on a road trip to Point Pelee for a much-needed beach day.
