Though it does have a lot to offer in terms of amenities, the town does have a long history.

According to Ontario’s Southwest Tourism, “the Lucan Area Heritage Society and the Township of Lucan Biddulph operate a museum dedicated to the preservation and retelling of the most famous historical events of the area.”

These events include “the founding of Wilberforce by a Black community from Cincinnati, the arrival and settlement of the area by Irish immigrants, and the infamous Donnelly murders, recounted in song, story and plays throughout Canada.”

You can learn more about its heritage at the local museum by reading stories and looking at artifacts.
