Southern Ontario’s longest suspension bridge has 360 views of unobstructed autumn scenery

Autumn adventures await at southern Ontario’s longest suspension bridge! This easy day trip soars sky-high, offering 360 views of pristine wilderness and a kaleidoscope of colours. Here’s what to know about Scenic Caves Nature Adventures and its suspension bridge experience.

You’ll find the suspension bridge within Scenic Caves Nature Adventures, a park area home to natural experiences such as caves, caverns, hiking trails, lookouts and more.

It’s accessible year-round (weather-dependent) and makes for a true adventure, especially in the fall.

According to its official site, to cross the bridge, you’ll need to embark on its short looped trail which starts near the parking lot.

“At 420 feet long, our suspension footbridge is southern Ontario’s longest and provides the best views of Georgian Bay and beyond,” states their website.

“The iconic bridge arch is supported by two steel towers, attached by anchors, embedded in foundations, with chain cables attached to the deck planks and tension bottom cables below. The bridge is flexible and will move slightly with wind and visitors.”

It soars 82 feet off the forest grounds, providing the illusion of it floating. Thanks to its chain link fence, no view is obstructed.

Scenic Caves Nature Adventures is also where you’ll find a fascinating labyrinth of caverns and caves that were naturally carved by glacial ice millions of years ago.

For a day of adventure and breathtaking views, Scenic Caves Nature Adventures offers the perfect escape.
