It is officially the giving season— to your loved ones and your community. Thankfully, Southcentre Mall has us covered on both accounts. After hosting a slew of charitable activations, the mall is now spotlighting local businesses to help us find cool gifts while also giving back to the community.

For those not in the know, the mall has been a champion of the Support Local YYC movement and houses 21 locally-owned retailers. In fact, they even made it easy for us to spot these retailers by adding a “Love where you live” sticker outside their stores.
So, we teamed up with them and put together this guide of what you can gift to the different personas around you. And also, where to find them. From the fashionistas to the hometown sports fans, here is your ultimate local gift-giving guide to Southcentre Mall—
For the pro-self-care lot
Be it beauty products to up your holiday glow or de-stressing skincare routines post-holiday season or anything in between, Southcentre has you covered. Grab a bath bomb, a soothing scent or a skin-restorative product.

For the sweet treat indulgers
Have ardent supporters of Jess’s “I find it fundamentally wrong that you are not a dessert person” quote? How about getting them handcrafted artisanal chocolates, chocolate and nut mixes, hard-to-find candy and other irresistible local sweet treats? And also, some soul-soothing coffee to go with it.

For the creative crowd
These are inarguably the most difficult to shop for. Because no matter what you do, their aesthetic palate is never satiated. Best to allow them to create something for themselves like a booking at the Motive Art Academy workshop.

For the ‘I have everything’ gang
If there’s one lot more difficult than the creatives to shop for, it is the ‘I have everything’ lot. The solution: shop for unique, novelty items. Think ornaments from Twisted Goods, a ‘Silently Judging Your Plastic Bag’ tote from Collab or a festive message stick plant from Plantsie.
