From themed bars to cafes that sell maple-flavoured goodies, Northern comforts aren’t impossible to find elsewhere, but few places have really embraced the red and white like Little Canada, Minnesota.
Located a half hour from Minneapolis, this charming city may feel pretty familiar to those who love Tim Hortons coffee and the Stanley Cup playoffs – but that should come as no surprise.
While it was the summer home of the Mdewakanton Dakota from Little Crow’s Village before anything else, the municipality as we know it became a township in 1858 when a group of French Canadians settled in the area.

First held in 1977, Canadian Days is an event held in conjunction with its sister city and has everything from carnival rides, contests, a pancake breakfast, live music, Canadian foods, and a parade.
