‘The Last Of Us’ shot another major scene in downtown Calgary & the videos are wild

After a year in the area, filming for the upcoming HBO series The Last Of Us is nearing its end – but not without some of the show’s loudest scenes to date taking over Calgary!

This week, less than a month out from their June 3rd wrap date, camera crews, the show’s all-star cast, and several extras took to 4th Street and 6th Avenue for what we can only describe as a riot – complete with flares, explicit language, and military-style vehicles.

One Calgarian, Fernanda Justus (@fernandamjustus), actually caught some of the chaos on camera and was kind enough to share two incredible videos taken from a block away.

Based on the popular video game of the same name, The Last Of Us follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) a smuggler as he escorts a young girl named Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across post-apocalyptic America after a fungal infection wipes out most of society.

As you can imagine, the majority of their many public sets have been covered in brush, dust, and dirt – so this has really stuck out to fans.

Not only does this scene appear to lack debris – but it’s also pretty populated, giving those who have seen similar footage a reason to believe that it’s either a flashback or a checkpoint.

Sadly, it’ll still be quite some time until we know for sure – but the wait will be worth it!

Though an exact date has yet to be announced, the highly anticipated HBO series The Last of Us will premiere in 2023.

Until then, keep an eye out, Calgary! You never know who – or what – you might see next!
