This Canadian theatre will now play video-messages before every movie & here’s how to make yours

Movie dates are a relationship staple and when it comes to going out with your friends – there’s nothing better than a rom-com and some popcorn, but how do you make the experience more personal?

This week, Landmark Cinemas announced “Shout Out” – a new way to delight someone you care about or are trying to impress.

Described as a 30-second video message, each memo is created and distributed by a viewer and will play 10 minutes before the end of the preshow.

The best part? Creating a video message is super easy and can be done in minutes via their website!

“The power of the big screen makes a birthday greeting, an anniversary celebration, or any occasion extra special,” said Bill Walker, CEO of Landmark Cinemas in a press release.

“The thrill of “sharing” the screen with the biggest movies, and the biggest stars, if only for 30 seconds, makes a Shout Out a unique and memorable experience that can only be created in our movie theatres.”

Interested in making one of your own? All you need to do is head to your chosen show time, click the “Shout Out” button and follow the prompts.

Once you’ve purchased your tickets and your video message, you’ll quickly receive an email from VidDay where pressing “Get Started” will take you to a creator’s page.

From text and photos to video and graphics, you can totally completely personalize your message before sending it off to the big screen and it’ll only cost you $19.99 (plus taxes).

There’s really nothing cuter, so check it out and have fun.

We look forward to seeing all of your messages, Canada!
