Canadians have many traditions – but being able to celebrate the nation’s most beloved dish every year might be one of our favourites! We hope you’re still hungry after your holiday feasts, Canada, because La Poutine Week will return in 2023 – and it all kicks off next month!

An annual festival organized by Sysco, this “do good, eat great” event challenges pubs, cafes and bars from coast to coast to create an outlandish, decadent or original poutine all in the name of charity.

From duck braised short rib to kimchi, butter chicken and even grilled cheese-covered fries, those in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and beyond, can all sink their teeth into some seriously unique takes on Canada’s cheesiest dish – but only for a limited time!

While we’re still a few weeks away, La Poutine Week will run for 14 days – and if last year was any indication, those committed to checking every spot off the list will have their work diligently.

No, they haven’t released this year’s participating restaurants – but this event gets bigger by the year, so start working up an appetite!
