The latest French-inspired restaurant in Toronto, La Plume has officially opened its doors at The Well. Not only will guests be whisked away to the South of France through its menu offerings, but they will also have the chance to enjoy a vibrant nightlife inside its tucked-away boudoir-inspired speakeasy – behind a washroom stall.

La Plume is hospitality group Oliver & Bonacini’s latest concept, following the opening of its other restaurant Aera, also found within The Well. Guests will have the first chance to try its menu offerings during its lunch service as it opens its doors on April 4th.

According to the restaurant, La Plume’s seasonal menu was created by O&B Executive Chef John Horne after spending time cooking in the South of France.

“La Plume is our love letter to southern France,” says Chef John Horne.

“Marrying the cozy romance of a classic French bistro with the unruffled flair of a laid-back brasserie, La Plume celebrates l’art de vivre from day to night”

Expect lunch and dinner specials, along with brunches, daily happy hours, and late-night tête-à-têtes. And if you’re a sucker for a good happy hour, you’ll be glad to know that they will off 50% off all drinks, every day from 3 PM to 6 PM.

And starting at 9 PM, expect a late-night menu of $12 feature cocktails.

All of this will be enjoyed within a stunningly designed interior that pays homage to “elegant French architecture.”

Head on upstairs where you will find a large open kitchen and a private dining room. There’s a greenery-filled terrace overlooking Wellington Street that’s perfect for the summer months.

And last but definitely not least, a hidden speakeasy.

According to the restaurant, “a visit to the correct washroom stall may have guests stumble upon a boudoir-inspired speakeasy,” named Bonne Nuit.

Bonne Nuit will be open from Thursdays through Saturdays in the evening and is a delightful yet luxurious spot for late-night cocktails, bottle service, and private events.

This is a spot you’ll have to see for yourself.

It looks like you don’t have to escape to the South of France this summer – you’ll find it right here in Toronto.
