Spring has sprung and summer is not far behind! In a matter of time, you’ll need somewhere to cool off and while the prairies may not be known for their beaches, what Alberta lacks in quantity makes up for in quality!

In fact, according to Travel Alberta, one destination was named one of Canadian Geographic’s top 25 beaches.

Revered for its soft sand and stunning view, Kinosoo Beach in Cold Lake has a little something for everyone.

Want to relax? Lounge about or take a walk around the promenade. Have kids? Go for a swim, hit the full-service concession stand, or check out the park!

If of course, you’re the fun-seeking type, Kinosoo also has a zipline, a beach volleyball court, paddleboard and kayak rentals, as well as a huge festival aptly named ‘Aqua Days.”

During this event, visitors are encouraged to enjoy live stage entertainment, a market, free water sports rentals, children’s activities, fireworks and a cardboard boat race.

What’s more, the beach is totally FREE to visit but don’t get so excited you forget to bring your sunscreen!

It’s going to be a long hot summer and you’ll fully want to embrace every minute of it!

Enjoy and happy tanning!
