Calgarians are fuelled by coffee, which is why when Starbucks announced that they were going to be closing stores all over the country, our hearts sank to our butts. Luckily, YYC-based coffee-shop Deville (best known for their mean Nutella Latte) has taken over the former Kensington location and plans on opening its doors this weekend!

Honestly, we were worried that our social anxiety wouldn’t have caffeine-induced anxiety to hang out with anymore. They need each other.

If you’re one of the lucky ones that don’t need dark roast to operate, the brand new Deville location is still worth checking out!

For those who have never been, it’s worth noting that they also have a ton of tasty treats, from baked goods to breakfast items like waffles, wraps, and brioche. Yum.

All in all, it’s pretty cool to see a local spot grow despite everything going on. Great job, folks! We’ll definitely be checking it out next time we’re in the neighbourhood!
