The city of Kenora is situated on Lake of the Woods, a series of stunning islands and long white sand beaches.

A beach day is an absolute must if you’re heading to Kenora and there are five different public beaches to pick from.

One of the most popular beaches is Anicinabe Beach located in Anicinabe Park. The park features over 100 campsites but the beach is open to the public to enjoy with a sandy shore and a wooden dock walkway to stroll down.

Make a day out of visiting another popular spot, Coney Island Beach.

Visitors can take a shuttle to Coney Island to spend the day. Green Adventures and Lake of the Woods Marina and Service Centre offer scheduled pontoon rides to Coney Island from the Kenora Harbourfront as the beach is only accessible by boat.

Coney Island Beach is a great place to bring a family featuring a concession stand, play area and washroom facilities. You can pick which of the five beaches is best for you while visiting here.

Looking for some photo opportunities? Kenora is home to a handful of roadside attractions like Husky the Muskie, Devil’s Gap Rock, and Loonie Bear!

According to the city, “Husky the Muskie is a large outdoor sculpture of a muskie fish located in McLeod Park.”

Next up is Loonie Bear, a large bear statue found along the Harbourfront in Kenora.

As for the Devil’s Gap Rock, the attraction was originally painted in the 1890s as a prank! The rock has since been repainted time and time again by local residents.

Finally, if you love getting your steps in then be sure to explore one of the many nature trails in Kenora!
