This upscale Japanese restaurant, located in one of Toronto’s most affluent neighbourhoods has revamped its space and introduced new menu offerings, including an exciting lunch experience to its weekly service.

Kasa Moto, located in the heart of Yorkville at 115 Yorkville Avenue, has always been known for its delicious Japanese cuisine with a more modern take. If you have yet to return to Kasa Moto or have yet to experience its offerings, you’ll be delighted to know that the restaurant has recently updated its interior.

In an effort to reimagine the restaurant space, they teamed up with interior design studio Iron and Ivory and textile designer Candice Kaye Design to “elevate and refine the customers dining experience.”

“It was an honour to collaborate with the team at Kasa Moto and redesign this iconic space, while maintaining characteristics that customers have come to appreciate,” said Kayla Pongrac, Co-Founder of Iron and Ivory. “To ensure the interior design was representative of Japanese culture, all new aspects of the redesign were thoughtfully curated, such as textiles and wallpapers inspired by vintage kimonos. Materials were also changed to complement the minimalistic feel and colour was incorporated for added flare.”

The bespoke murals feature hand-painted cranes, florals, leaves, and art nouveau details which were all inspired by vintage Japanese textiles, according to the restaurant. “The refashioned interior of Kasa moto creates a sleek yet inviting atmosphere that effortlessly evolves from day to night.”

With a new interior comes a refreshed menu and Kasa Moto has done just that. The culinary team, led by Executive Chef Jia Zou, has introduced the restaurant’s first-ever Bento Box Lunch Program to its menu.

The lunch special is served daily beginning at 12:00 PM. You can choose between the Beef Bento and Pork Katsu Bento box specials. The platter is rather large featuring sashimi, miso soup, roasted brussel sprouts, fried rice, and more. If you’re looking for a filling meal, you have to try it out.

Other menu newbies include a Scallop Ceviche, Wagyu Carpaccio, Miso Black Cod, and chef’s signature Pork Loin served on a bincho grill.

As for cocktails, Beverage Manager, Ben Kingstone, known for his work at Valerie, Parc Ave, and Kasa Moto, redesigned the cocktail program with a bunch of new drinks to enjoy.

Though all of the drinks are definitely worth trying like Lost at Sea, Usual Suspect, and Moto Mori Sling, you definitely need to try Tokyo Minute. This cocktail is composed of Yuzu Ketel One, Lychee Jasmine Cordial, Orange, and Ginger Shrub.

“Kasa Moto is a landmark in our city and it was important to craft a new mixture of signature and trendy cocktails for our guests to enjoy,” said Kingstone. “When customers stop by Kasa Moto for a memorable dining experience or late evening celebration, we want them to enjoy an unparalleled hospitality experience.”

Whether it’s for lunch, dinner, drinks, or all three, Kasa Moto’s new revamp is worth checking out.
