This holiday season is looking like a big one. Seattle already has tons of Christmas-centric events coming out like the Seattle Christmas Market, Winterfest, and even a Santa Train. Now, The National Nordic Museum invites you to experience their very own Julefest.

This weekend is the 46th Annual Julefest where you can partake in and enjoy an authentic Nordic holiday experience. It takes place in the heart of Ballard and is modeled after traditional outdoor Christmas markets that are found in Nordic countries.

The event features all the “fun and goodies associated with the Nordic holidays, with a Pacific Northwest twist.”

The market has food, crafts, live music, and even a beer hall. As it is spread out over two days you can enjoy different kinds of live entertainment like the Norwegian Ladies Chorus, Seattle Skandia Spelmanslag, and Iceland Groove Project.

Julefest After Dark returns for another year at Skål Beer Hall. After 5 PM you can show staff your ticket for a free pretzel with an additional purchase. There will be a full kitchen, bar with aquavits, Nordic and local beer, and mead. If you’re feeling brave there’s even a shot sword.

New this year is the Valhalla Mug Club, each $25 ticket comes with one 20z limited edition Valhalla Mug, your first two beers on Julefest, and one free pretzel at Skål Beer Hall.

So try something new this holiday season and see what Nordic Christmas festivities are all about.

Enjoy!
