Good news, movie lovers! A recent update on the details of The Mother, a new movie starring Jennifer Lopez, has got Vancouver as the main filming location! The movie was first announced earlier this year, as a new production with backing from Netflix.
According to Hollywood North, shooting will kick off later this fall (October 10th) and last into next year (January, 2022). So far Jennifer Lopez, who most recently made serious on-screen waves with the 2019 movie Hustlers, is confirmed to star in the thriller movie.

Which, by the way, follows a mother/assassin (J. Lo) as she tries to protect her daughter from nefarious forces. The film is apparently inspired by Leon: The Professional, and was written by Misha Green (the person behind Lovecraft County). So, it should be a very interesting reimagining of the classic mentor/student trope. At least, we hope so!
