It’ll feel a whole 20°C cooler soon in Toronto & it’ll basically be sweater weather

It looks like the sizzling heat is coming to an end in Toronto — at least, for now. A muggy weekend lies ahead with humidity values of 35°C and 39°C on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. After that, temperatures will steadily fall throughout the first week of September, according to The Weather Network.

Come September 9th, the daytime high will hover at around 18°C in the city, a far cry from the blazing 45°C heat that broke weather records this week. At night, temperatures will dive even lower, sitting at around 15°C on Labour Day.

According to AccuWeather’s fall weather predictions for Ontario, a generally mild autumn lies ahead, however, the thunderstorms that have rocked our province throughout the summer could persist into September.  Most of Canada will feel the effects of La Niña in the coming months, which will make for warmer-than-normal conditions this fall.

Winter in southern Ontario is also set to be rather mild, according to The Weather Network, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be spared entirely.  In fact, it looks like our balmy autumn will be replaced rapidly by an especially wintry December, with freezing temperatures and snowfall as early as three weeks before Christmas.

Throughout the winter season, southern regions of the province could experience “record warmth” at times, although if there’s anything we know about Ontario’s ever-shifting weather patterns, it always keeps us on our toes.
