Looking for a weekend getaway close to the city but still feels like an escape? Innisfil, Ontario is less than two hours from Toronto and spans 47 km of Lake Simcoe’s shoreline. The town is known for its beaches, waterfront trails and a year-round resort where every day feels like Friday!

Getting to Innisfil, Ontario

Driving to Innisfil from Toronto is just under two hours!

The town is tucked along the western shoreline of Lake Simcoe south of Barrie.

Things to do

While visiting a lakefront town with 47 km of shoreline, it only makes sense to start your day along one of the waterfront trails.

The Innisfil Beach Park Trail is a two-kilometre trail, providing scenic views of Lake Simcoe – especially beautiful this time of year as the leaves are changing.

Next up, The Friday Harbour Trail.

This 6.5-kilometre trail is on the Friday Harbour resort grounds, a year-round resort that has accessible-to-the-public areas.

Visitors can walk, hike and snowshoe (once the snow arrives)!

The trail runs through a nature preserve on the resort property leading to a boardwalk with more gorgeous views.

Speaking of Friday Harbour, you’ll want to stay for the day once you’re there. You can stay awhile and book a couple of nights at the resort, or enjoy the waterfront restaurants on the property any time.

Fishbone, Marine Room, Lake Club, Pier Bar, and Nest Clubhouse are some of the options you can choose from.

This town may be small but its lakeside charm will have you wanting to stay a little longer.

Innisfil, Ontario is waiting for you!
