In-person live performances are coming to High Park this summer

Guess what, Toronto? Live performances are on their way! We are all jazzed up to tell you about the exciting summer programming from Canadian Stage. Introducing Dream in High Park. This bold, dynamic, and in-person event is just what you’ve been craving for the past several months.

Dream in High Park is the Canadian Stage’s take on a safely socially-distanced live performance lineup. While they’d normally be hosting Shakespeare in rep at the High Park Amphitheatre, instead they are sharing the space and inviting partner companies to present their work in a COVID-19 safe environment.

What this means is we’ll be able to catch everything from plays to concerts to musicals to family programming to movies and more. All of it in the COVID-19 safe space that is the High Park Amphitheatre. Told ya this was exciting stuff, people!

Wondering which groups the Canadian Stage is working with? Things are kicking off with Jeremy Dutcher in concert, works from Native Earth Performing Arts & dance Immersion, a collection creative co-produced with York University, BLACKOUT – the new Canadian musical presented by The Musical Stage Company, and much much more. Looks like they’ve got a great summer in store!

Now, in a normal year, the High Park Amphitheatre would be able to host upwards of 1,000 guests per show. We don’t need to tell you that this summer is not normal. Instead, each performance will be capped at 100 audience members, socially distanced and spread out.

You can learn more about this exciting programming when you head on over to CanadianStage.com. Tickets aren’t on sale just yet, but be sure to stay up to date on Twitter and Instagram so you catch ’em when they are.
