The Space Needle is undeniably Seattle’s most iconic building and it’s about to reach a huge mile stone, its 60th anniversary. Throughout its life, it has attracted more than 60 million visitors from around the world. And now it’s time to celebrate by returning the tower’s sloped roof to its original color, Galaxy Gold. What’s more, you could be the one to paint it!

To celebrate the needle’s anniversary, people are asked to share their Space Needle memories from the past 60 years. In the end, five people will be selected to partake in painting the sloped roof of the Space Needle on April 21st, 2022. They’ll get to put on a harness, grab a roller, and experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to paint nearly 600 feet above Seattle.

That’s that not all though, a total of 60 winners will also get other prizes like Space Needle tickets, VIP packages to The Loupe Lounge at the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass admission, and passes to Seattle International Film Festival. So if you have memories at the needle, pictures, videos, whatever it may be, it’s probably worth submitting. Keep in mind, everything needs to be received by Sunday, April 17th.

You can submit your memories at the contest website. And in the meantime you can enjoy some tales of the building like how it was designed and when it “collapsed“. Enjoy, and good luck in the contest!
