There’s a horseshoe-shaped beach in Ontario with pristine clean water

Next up on our outdoor adventures is this horseshoe-shaped beach in this Ontario park. Look no further than the peaceful, serene, and clear waters of Killbear Provincial Park.

About three hours away from Toronto is Killbear Provincial Park, home to over 30 km of Georgian Bay shoreline.

Here you’ll find seven campgrounds for every type of camper. Spend a few days or just one, it’s worth the trip.

For you cyclists and hikers, embark on a 6 km Recreational Trail that runs along the length of the park!

If you’re more of a lake person, Killbear has over 12 km of rugged shoreline and three islands to explore, according to Ontario Parks.

“There are dozens of other islands within a short paddle of the park,” shares the park. “Paddlers must be aware of wind and wave conditions on Georgian Bay and be aware that the weather can change quickly.”

Unfortunately for some, you won’t be able to rent canoes or kayaks within the park but rentals are available outside the park at local businesses.

But the best part of the park is taking a much-needed break by the beach.

Head to the day-use part of the beach. Kilcoursie, Beaver Dams, and the day-use area share 2 km of the horseshoe-shaped beach.

According to Ontario Parks, the beaches at Georgian, Harold Point, Granite Saddle, Lighthouse Point, and Blind Bay Campgrounds “are all on smaller beaches flanked by rocky headlands.”

On a hot summer’s day, nothing feels better than cooling off by the shore in a nice and cold lake.

So there you have it. If you’re craving an outdoor adventure, go ahead and start planning! We have some exploring to do.
