Drumroll please: Here's the winner of this year's Honda Celebration of Light in Vancouver

Attention, Vancouver! The world’s largest fireworks competition just wrapped up this past weekend, leaving attendees with the burning question of which team will walk away as the winner of this year’s Honda Celebration of Light. And on the morning of Wednesday, July 31st – organizers announced who is taking home the proverbial gold. So your wait is over!
With some spectacular performances by Portugal’s Team Macedos Pirotecnia, Malaysia’s Team Pyro Tact, and the UK’s Pyrtotex Fireworx – spectators and judges certainly had their work cut out for them.
According to the announcement, it’s the U.K. that has earned the #1 spot this year, as awarded by both the People’s Choice Award and the Judge’s Competition Award!
“Their tightly choreographed performance captivated the audience, standing out even amidst the fierce competition from Team Portugal and Team Malaysia,” reads the post.

Pyrtotex Fireworx dazzled the skies on Saturday, July 27th with a grand finale to this year’s fireworks show. Its awe-inspiring mix of vibrant colours, choreography, and perfectly synchronized music wowed spectators no matter where they were sitting – at English Bay, Vanier Park, and beyond!
So while competition was stiff, it’s not a huge surprise that the U.K. is the official winner of this year’s Honda Celebration of Light.
