‘Tis the season for holiday lights, Christmas markets and craft fairs, everyone. With the end of the month rapidly approaching and several markets already in full swing, we thought we’d go ahead and share some options around Vancouver.

Here are some amazing holiday markets to check out in & around the city this winter.

Vancouver Christmas Market

Believe it or not, this year’s annual Vancouver Christmas Market is already on this season, which means the wait for delicious bratwurst, freshly-baked pretzels, and hot mulled wine is over. Grab your fave seasonal treats from the 40+ gourmet food vendors and peruse the ultimate collection of holiday gifts, including hand-crafted ornaments, traditional German chocolates, and much more.

The Polygon Gallery’s Annual Holiday Shop 

For special events with different local vendors every weekend leading up to the holidays, head to The Polygon. There, you’ll find some truly unique gift options, ranging from ethically sourced jewelry to hand-crafted art, to skincare elixirs. Plus, the Little Mountain Shop Holiday features an all-Canadian lineup of women and BIPOC creators, so you know you’ll be supporting local. The “Meet The Maker” events take place every weekend from 11 am to 4 pm.

Shipyards Annual Artisan Christmas Market

Every year, The Pipe Shop in North Vancouver transforms into a winter wonderland filled with great artisanal finds. And with all the amazing food nearby at the Lonsdale Quay Market, you could easily make a day of it. The holiday market will take place from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, December 10th and until 5 pm on Sunday, December 11th. Oh, and admission is free!

When: Saturday, December 10th to Sunday, December 11th

Eastside Flea Holiday Markets

It wouldn’t be the holidays in Vancouver without the Eastside Flea. Every year, the organizers bring over 50 local vendors selling a diverse selection of goods to Eastside Studios. Shoppers can expect to find everything from handmade jewelry, pottery, art, home decor, etc to vintage clothing, collectibles, and more.  Each market also hosts 2 to 3 rotating food trucks parked outside, with lots of comfy seating and a slew of tasty beverages to enjoy. The next scheduled market? Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th.

When: Every weekend from Saturday, December 3rd to December 18th
Where: 550 Malkin Avenue
Cost: $10 for admission to all three winter markets

Portobello West Roundhouse Holiday Market

Featuring over 60 B.C. artists, designers, and producers, Protobello West’s annual market returns to Yaletown on Saturday, November 26th and Sunday, November 27th at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre. The holiday pop up will take place from 10 am to 5 pm, and feature all kinds of fashion, art, jewelry, and gourmet treats to peruse. There will also be onsite food trucks to keep your stomachs full while you shop.

When: Saturday, November 26th and Sunday, November 27th
Where: 181 Roundhouse Mews
Cost: $5

Japan Market Christmas Fair

Three Japanese-Canadian vendors have teamed up this year to put on a massive two-day Japan-inspired Christmas Market, complete with local art, crafts, and delicious eats. The Japan Market Christmas Fair will bring over 60 vendors to UBC Robson Square, inside the UBC downtown campus. Oh, and Samurai will return to the indoor site for free photo ops!

When: Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th
Where: 800 Robson Street
Cost: $4

Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair & Festive Tree Lighting

The annual Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair is home to over 140 local artisans every year with thousands of handmade crafts to choose from – so you definitely won’t run out of options! The massive market will take place on Saturday, November 26th from 10 am to 5 pm, and you can view the full line of vendors here.

Tsleil Waututuh Nation 20th Annual Christmas Craft Fair 

The Tsleil Tsleil Waututh Community Centre is bringing back its annual Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th from 10 am to 5 pm. In addition to holiday shopping, guests (and vendors) can participate in the chance to win prizes, and of course, check out their food options.
