Let’s face it, a good deal of the holiday season is spent at the dinner table, and for good reason. Nothing tastes better than holiday carbs while surrounded by your loved ones – and a couple of winter-themed drinks never hurt either! Luckily for Vancouverites, there are plenty of dining options to mark the occasion and make some core memories. And on this list, we’ve included Christmas and NYE options so you can plan accordingly. So, without further ado, here are 14 spots for holiday eats & drinks to enjoy in Vancouver this December.

What better place to start than with Glowbal? Grab some Jingle Juice or Gingerbread Eggnog – or stick with a classic mulled wine – and settle in for a festive meal on their decorated patio. From the Chili & Garlic Fried Sea Bass to Queso Fundido, to their beloved Truffle Spaghetti & Meatballs, there’s a dish for everyone here. And on December 17th and 18th from 10 am to 2:30 pm, you can join a Santa Brunch Buffet ($85 for adults, $30 for kids) with access to exclusive photo-ops.

Lastly, their NYE Gala Dinner ($175 per person) includes an incredible night of food and entertainment of its own, including a midnight countdown, an aerialist show, bottle service, and a balloon drop at midnight.

Honey Salt 

In addition to their three-course holiday dinner of Winter Harvest Salad, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Roasted Turkey Roulade with chestnut stuffing – Honey Salt is hosting an afternoon of Gingerbread House building for families on Sunday, December 4th, 11th, and 18th at 3 pm ($30 per house). The three-course dinner (complete with dessert!) is available for $88 per person between December 21st and 25th, plus $40 for a wine pairing.

And for $130 per person, you can take advantage of their amazing New Year’s Eve special, a special three-course dinner for $130 per person. Guests can choose between menu highlights like Northern Divine Caviar, Dungeness Golden Crab Arancini, Fraser Valley Dry Aged Duck Breast, and much more.

Coast Restaurant

Coast Restaurant is ringing in the New Year with special dishes created by Chef Fernando Burgues, including Beef Carpaccio, Oyster Oscar and Surf & Turf (8oz tenderloin Oscar, lobster tail, truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus and red wine jus), and Whole Roasted Sea Bass (crushed fingerling potatoes, blistered tomatoes and creamy spinach). The dining experience is $60 per person and includes complimentary bubbles and a balloon drop at midnight.

Black + Blue

If Old Hollywood is your style, then you can’t go wrong with this NYE event at Black + Blue. Expect live music, Champagne and caviar packages, and all the glitz and glam you can imagine. The dinner starts at 8 pm on NYE and is $185 per person, with live music until 1 am.

H Tasting Lounge

Famed for its magical dome dining experiences, H Tasting Lounge is serving up tasty eats and drinks all month long. In the lounge itself, you can enjoy an elaborate, customizable Christmas dinner on December 24th and 25th, for $94 per adult and $40 per child. As for Winterlust, there’s a premium seven-course feast awaiting you in the domes for $145 per person.

Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts  

The talented chefs from Blue Hat Baker-Cafe at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts have created a delicious, stress-free Christmas dinner for you and your loved ones, complete with a succulent turkey with all the trimmings, and some mouthwatering desserts. Note that each order is $115 + fees and serves two people.

Five Sails 

Five Sails is offering guests a five-course dining experience on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for $165 per person. Take your pick between Haida Gwaii Sablefish, Christmas Turkey, or Roasted Venison En Croute for your main dish, and accompany your meal with a Winter Truffle, Lobster Consommé, and more.

Fanny Bay Oysters

Fanny Bay Oysters is celebrating NYE with a bottle of Moët and a dozen of oysters for $150, which sounds like a great special occasion splurge if you ask us. And if you’re still hungry, Chef Tommy Shorthouse will also be featuring Lobster Thermidor (Atlantic Lobster, creamed leek, mushroom duxelles, black truffle-cream sauce, asparagus and lemon) for $55!

For the month of December, live lobsters will also be available for purchase on the market side if you prefer to feast at home.

Smitty’s Oyster House Main Street

Smitty’s is celebrating its first anniversary as well as the holidays, so let’s get into it. Diners can expect Weekend Paella Nights (Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30 pm until sold out), “Bubbles and Boards” for parties of two ($80) or four (140) on NYE, and Give-one-Get-Some Gift Cards.

Oh, and don’t forget about their amazing happy hour oysters, mussels, and tostadas from 3 to 6 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Or their $6 glasses of house wine.

Straight and Marrow 

The team at Straight and Marrow will be featuring drink and food specials on NYE, including poached oysters, duck breast with smoked carrots, and elk rack with Chimichurri. Reservations after 10:30 pm will have a $60 fee per table, which will include a bottle of bubbles to ring in the new year.

From Sunday, December 12th to December 23rd, C|Prime will be offering a special Lunch Buffet from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm for $50 per person. On the menu? Everything from poached prawns and smoked salmon to butternut squash risotto and burrata caprese.

And for New Year’s, they’re serving up a special NYE four-course dinner menu with welcome drinks, midnight bubbly, and live entertainment for $150 per person.

In addition to holiday specials, The Victor is celebrating their fifth birthday with a special family-style menu for five days from December 18th to December 22nd. And the menu will feature everything from seafood hot pot to a steak selection platter! The menu for two is $150, or $300 for four.

As well, The Victor will offer diners a four-course festive feast from Christmas Eve to December 26th, including faves like Lobster Bisque, The Victor Maki with A5 Wagyu Stripling & Jumbo Prawn, and roasted Turkey. And if you’d rather plan a special New Year’s Day Brunch, they’ve got you covered there, too. Tasty options here include the Caramelized Bananas Foster French Toast, Shakshuka, and more. Oh, and don’t forget about the Mimosa Cart or the build-your-own-Bloody Mary bar!

The Flying Pig

At all The Flying Pig locations, you can enjoy 10 days of Brunch from Friday, December 23rd to January 1st, with the exception of December 25th. On the menu? All-time brunch faves like Asparagus and Mushroom Frittata, French Toast, Signature Pulled Pork Hash, and more.

Through December at Carlino, you can toast the season with their spiced Pear Pressure, which features rye whiskey, Jamaican rum, oxidized blueberry leaves, and pear-cooked sous vide with aromatic cinnamon, cardamom, and star anise. And in terms of food, they’ve got plenty of tasty options for their Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Dinner, and Christmas Day Brunch.
