There’s a new Parisian-inspired lobby bar in Toronto & it spotlights local art galleries

If you frequently walk or drive downtown Toronto, you’ve probably been by the Hilton Toronto on Richmond Street West. While it is a classic hotel in the city, its interior had a glow up recently, and that included the introduction of its new Parisian-inspired lobby bar, Frenchy.

Hilton Toronto’s Frenchy is located in the lobby, steps from the hotel’s main doors.

The eye-catching oval-shaped bar may be the first thing you see as you walk in, but to the left is a full renovated space offering a lounge and dining areas. Frenchy also has a private dining room, for those special occasions or meetings in the city.

Besides the warm colours in the new lobby bar, this space is also being used to spotlight local art galleries with a collection of artwork – many of which are custom commissions, according to the hotel. For example, in Frenchy’s private dining room, there are a couple of commissioned pieces from Thompson Landry Gallery. As for in the bar and brasserie, you will see photographs from LUMAS, which “add diversity to the artistic narrative within the space.”

French’s menu offers several options including a lunch, midday menu, dinner, and a late night menu. For Happy Hour enthusiasts, you can certainly add this spot on your list, as Happy Hour here runs daily from 2PM to 5PM.

Some must-haves to try include the Coquilles st. Jacques, and the French Onion Soup for starters.

There’s a whole “Avec Frites” section on the menu, offering a variety of bites with fries, “because frites shouldn’t be reserved just for steak.” But certainly try the steak for the complete Frenchy experience. Or the mussels.

The cocktail menu has alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, with their own flair and take on classics, like the Beurre Noisette – a take on an Old Fashioned.

French is open 7 days a week, and definitely adds to our list of hotel lobby bars to visit in Toronto.
