You can enjoy a drive-in movie series just outside of Calgary this summer

There’s nothing better than tossing a few pillows into the car, popping some corn and catching a film behind the dashboard! This summer, as long as you’re up for a bit of a drive, consider heading to High River where they’ll be kicking off their 2023 Sunset Drive-in movie series next month.

Held annually, this event is beloved by locals and those passing through (plus it’ll win you a few date points if you’re cheeky about it.)

This season, those interested will be able to catch a variety of double features in a number of genres, from romance and comedy to classics and superheroes – it’s just a matter of being on top of things!

Starting August 4th, film buffs can catch the following on the big screen:

Interested in checking it out? The High River Sunset Drive-in costs $40 per car and is run by a not-for-profit organization in support of local charities.

Movie start times will coincide with the official time of sunset and gates will open one hour before movie time with food trucks and washrooms on site.

You definitely won’t want to miss checking it out, Alberta! It won’t run forever, so start your engines, slip into a pair of comfy clothes and enjoy. It’s going to be a hoot!
