This is the best time to see High Park’s cherry blossoms & here’s why

After weeks of anticipation, High Park’s cherry blossoms are now in bloom. The buds have opened up into beautiful pink flowers and crowds are flocking to enjoy the weather and the views.

If you’re eager to see the sakura trees in all their glory, the best time to do so is this week. That’s because the trees will be at the peak height of their blooming season over the next few days thanks to the warmth and sunshine, according to Toronto’s local expert Sakura Steve.

“With a fair weather forecast, this peak bloom should last between May 5 and continue to May 12, depending on any changes in the weather,” wrote Sakura Steve in his latest update this past weekend.

“The difference between a day of warmer, sunny weather is honestly telling just how much of an effect the weather has on the cherry blossoms.”

And it looks like we have a lot of that warmth and sunshine coming our way this week. A high of 17 C is in the forecast for Tuesday, May 10, followed by 21  C on Wednesday, 22 C on Thursday, and 23 on Friday, but feeling more like 26 C.

And if you can’t get enough of these gorgeous trees, there are plenty of other lesser-known and equally as beautiful parks with cherry blossoms around Toronto that are also worth visiting over the next couple of weeks.

The warm weather and beautiful spring colours are finally here to stay, so get out there and soak them all in!
