Guess what, folks! Silver Skate Fest, the longest-running winter festival in Edmonton, officially returns tomorrow! Over the years, this small event has grown to be something the entire city looks forward to. Yes, even with frigid temperatures and a different game plan. So, let’s check it out!

Silver Skate officially kicks off in Hawrelak Park on Friday, February 12th. Like with past years, you’ve got a wide variety of options both indoor and out. So, whether you’re pretending to be a speed skater or just looking for a neat way to celebrate Valentine’s, they’ve got your back.

Of course, another major part of the festival is all the art on display, which luckily is back this year. Bundle up and explore some amazing snow and ice sculptures throughout the park. Feeling creative yourself? They’re also running a photo contest for the best ‘winterscape’ created during the festival.

So, you’ve got tons of options, folks! While it might be a little too cold for us this weekend, we’re definitely keeping it in mind as soon as Edmonton warms up.
