For those feeling a little more adventurous, then the hikes/walks/lakes at Elk Island are always enticing. Plus, you should know that Parks Canada has made entry free to national parks across the board, saving you money for a nice little ice cream cone or something afterwards.

CLOSED

CITY-OWNED RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND LEISURE CENTRES

Sorry, folks – but this Canada Day, all city-owned pools, indoor and outdoor, as well as fitness and rec centres will be closed in lieu of the Stat holiday. Don’t worry though, it won’t be long until they reopen.

POST OFFICES

Whether it’s an Amazon return or an invitation – it’ll have to wait! This Canada Day (and every stat holiday) the post office will be closed.

While grocery and convenience stores will be open this Friday, Costco will be unshoppable this Friday. Looks like you’ll have to get your massive hot do fix before Canada Day!

From the passport office to the DMV, all government offices will be closed on Canada Day.

But there you have it, friends. Everything that’s open/closed this Canada Day in Edmonton. Please be sure to double-check the hours of operation no matter where you’re headed and enjoy the day! Here’s to sun, fun and family.
