Here’s what to know about the end of Seattle’s mask mandate

Did you ever think that you’d see the day when masks were no longer the norm? Well that day is coming and it’s coming soon. Seattle has officially passed the 70% threshold for fully vaccinated residents 16 and older. That means the indoor mask mandate will end on June 29th but there are some things you should know.

The mask mandate expiration date takes into account enough time for recently vaccinated folks to develop full immunity. But with that in mind, indoor mask use is still recommended for people who are unvaccinated. That point is furthered by the fact that COVID-19 has many variants and the vaccines can only do so much. So we’d say keep those masks on.

We know that masks aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but they are important in keeping each other safe. And with that in mind, businesses will still be able to decide whether or not they want to require you to wear a mask. So don’t throw them all away yet, they’re still going to be a part of your daily life for a while.

But if you’re fully vaccinated you can get a little excited because chances are you’ll be able to go maskless in at least a few places on June 29th. Again while we know that these times can be frustrating and confusing we ask that you remain patient with businesses when it comes to masks. Just remember, wearing a mask really isn’t that hard, you can learn more by clicking here. Have a great day folks.
