Happy Friday eve, friends! Whether you’ve had a rough few days, are celebrating something, or have just watched Netflix in its entirety, we’d highly recommend masking up, winding down, and supporting local! What better way to do exactly that than by checking out one of YYC’s hot new spots?! Here are 5 bars and restaurants where you can grab a drink in Calgary this weekend.
Looking to grab a drink where it’s quiet? Check out Paper Lantern, a contemporary speakeasy-style lounge with amazing-looking Vietnamese tapas, subs, bowls, and a super unique, tropically inclined drink menu. You might not be able to hop on a plane right now, but you can trick your tastebuds into thinking you’re on vacation.
Where: Basement – 115 – 2 Avenue SE, Calgary
From creative cocktails to inspired menu items, a sophisticated lounge area, and even a light-up dance floor, Calgary’s newest restaurant Rendesvouz kind of has it all. This weekend, suit up and check them out for an evening of high class, no couch fun.
Where: 3750 Market Street SE, Calgary
A good time doesn’t and shouldn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. At Chemical Steve’s on 17th, everything is $6 or less, meaning you can drink more and cry less the next morning when you look at your credit card statement!
Where: 718 17th Avenue SW
Serving outrageously Mediterranean food and cocktail, Orchard is practically a sunburn away from being an actual vacation. Seriously, this place is on freaking point, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from the folks who also brought us Shelter. That being said, if you don’t have a reservation you’re going to have a tough time getting in, so we’d advise that you book ahead for this weekend.
Where: 134, 610 – 10th Avenue SW, Calgary
This weekend, check out Jia Jia Bar, a new Asian Street food spot with unreal menu items like the Macau pork chop burger, the Singapore style curry vermicelli, bubble tea, and a variety of tasty shareables and of course, unique cocktails and shots!
Where: 1033 17 Ave SW, Calgary
There you have it, party people. 5 Calgary where you can grab a drink this weekend. Please be safe, be smart, wash your dang hands and continue to be kind to one another!
