Hello, Edmonton! Fingers crossed, but it looks like the weather in the city is going to start improving just in time for Family Day this year. So, we’ve decided to check out some great ways to spend the day off. From outdoor activities to at-home options. It’ll be the best Monday you’ve had all year!

Here are 5 things to do around Edmonton this Family Day.

Silver Skate Festival

This long-running winter fest looks a little different, but the major draws are still there! Head down to Hawrelak Park to check out some amazing snow sculptures. Or, take advantage of the many at-home and socially-distant options this year.

Boardwalk Ice on Whyte

In a similar vein, Ice on Whyte might be a little different this year, but it’s still worth seeing. Plus, the locations are undeniably very convenient. We say order takeout from a nearby restaurant, then show up a little early and do a quick tour before grabbing your meal.

The Royal Alberta Museum offers a wide variety of educational options that you can access online. Explore the collections on virtual tours, learn to build a banjo (awesome), or take some custom-made quizzes to learn more about the museum.

Go Skating

A classic option, and for good reason. Edmonton has got a few fantastic skating areas, with the most popular being the lighted Victoria Park IceWay. Wear some extra thick socks and a few layers, and you’ll be good for at least an hour of fun.

Enjoy a nice meal
