Here is where you can go apple picking in Alberta this fall

Ready or not, the fall season is coming in hot and so are the spooky events and pumpkin patches – but there’s one more autumn-obligatory activity that you may not have expected to get into this year! Surprisingly, Alberta is home to a few apple orchards where you can actually go and pull a golden delicious off the tree! Here are just a few by name and how far they are from your city centre – enjoy!

ATTRACTED 2 APPLES

Located 20 minutes from Edmonton, Attracted 2 Apples has over 800 trees with 12 varieties of the hard-cored fruit. Here, no matter which branch you’re tugging on, you can rest assured that your pick will be herbicides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers. The best part? Admission here is free, so you only pay for what you pick ( under 20 lbs – $1.50/lb over 20 lbs – $1.90/lb) so snag wisely!

HAPPY ACRES U-PICK

From veggies to berries, Happy Acres really has it all and this fall they’re back open for u-pick! Whether you’re in it for the family-friendly fun, their non-GMO chemical-free ready-to-take fruits, super cute animals or little ice cream shop, you’re bound to have an incredible afternoon full of sun, fun and fresh air,

THE BERRY FARM

That brings us to the smallest orchard on the list – The Berry Farm! Though it can’t compare in size, their selection of fruit and vegetables rivals that of any dominating u-pick. Here, you’ll have to book a time to stop by, but it’ll be worth it. From sea buckthorn, plums, cherries, Saskatoon, honeyberries, and of course, apples (just to name a few), these folks have really got it all – why not give them a call!
