Loula’s Taverna & Bar

Having opened at the end of July, Loula’s is like some kind of super-Greek restaurant hybrid. And while it’s backed by some mainstay names, you can expect a completely new, laidback dining experience. Think a sharing-focused menu, a vibrant dining room, and one of the most unique bathrooms in the city (no, really).

Where: 1608 Commercial Drive

Delara

Having only opened last week, Delara is very much fresh on the scene. However, the head chef/owner comes from a background at The Farmer’s Apprentice and L’Abattoir, and Delara has quickly risen to the top of our ‘must-try soon’ list in the city.

Where: 2272 West 4th Avenue

Shameless Buns

While this isn’t a completely new concept, it’s nice to see the fan favourite food truck move into a permanent location! The new Shameless Buns outpost offers all the classics from the past few years, plus a range of new treats to try. So, it definitely deserves on a spot on this list of new restaurants in Vancouver.

Where: 5772 Fraser Street

Cream Pony

It was a long wait for it to open, but Cream Pony has finally landed in North Vancouver. Specializing in fried chicken and donuts (seriously), this spot isn’t exactly the healthiest on this list, but could be exactly what you need after a day spent wandering around Lower Lonsdale and the Quay.

Where: 111 1st St E Unit B2, North Vancouver, entrance located on Lolo Lane

Alouette

Ooh doesn’t love a little high-end dining experience? This new French restaurant at Hotel Le Soleil in downtown Vancouver is sure to satisfy your craving for a hearty meal on a rainy day, thanks to classics like French Onion Soup and Steak Frites.

Where: 567 Hornby Street

Land & Sea

Speaking of hearty options, Land & Sea is a new restaurant coming to Kerrisdale, with a focus on filling dishes and a seasonal menu. Luckily, they’ve picked Japanese cuisine with a little West Coast flair, which means we can look forward to a fantastic mix of fresh ingredients and unique dishes, like unagi risotto or salmon soba.

When: Soft opening on September 3rd, 2021
Where: 1864 W 57th Avenue

Nancy Go Yaya

While these last two picks have no set opening dates, we can’t help but look forward to them. First up is Nancy Go Yaya, a new venture from the folks behind Bao Bei and Kissa Tanto. Also located in Chinatown (surprise!), this spot will focus on Singaporean cuisine and will feature a robust wine list.

When: Slated to open before the end of summer
Where: 265 East Pender Street

Ça Marche Crêperie

Finally, we’ve got Ça Marche, a concept that combines savoury, ‘Breton’-style crepes with a focus on local ciders to wash them down. We’d be skeptical, but this comes from the same people who created the Kits staple Au Comptoir, and so we can’t wait for it to open.

When: Slated to open this fall
Where: 1408 Continental Street

Alright folks, that’s our roundup of some amazing new restaurants in Vancouver to try out next month! With any luck, we’ll get to try them all, but we’d be happy with even 1 or 2 stops.
