Okay, we’ll admit, Clifton Hill is one of the most happening spots in Niagara Parks with lit-up stores, fun rides, grand casinos and more. But if you are anything like us and hit the region ever so often, you are on the lookout for more.

And with the weather being graciously and consistently nice these past couple of weeks, we could all use a weekend getaway. This is why we put together this list of 6 incredible things that we insist everyone experiences this summer. From thrilling adventures to retail therapy and everything in between, there’s a little something for everyone.

Zipline to the Falls

You can actually zip line 2,200 ft through the gorge passing the American Falls and then landing atop the observation deck at the base of the Horseshoe Falls. All while taking in the spectacular views. You might think this is a thrill-seeker’s activity but it’s not. It’s a guided adventure and their experienced staff was able to make us scaredy cats enjoy it too.

Walk the White Water Walk

This is your chance to get up close to the boldly rushing Niagara River. So, the boardwalk runs along the river’s edge with quite a few viewing decks along the way. And trust us, these are views you don’t want to miss. At just a quarter mile, the boardwalk is perfect for hikers of all speeds, ages and calibers.

Hit the Niagara Parks Golf Courses

The region is home to five exquisite public golf courses, each boasting of a distinct landscape based on its physical geography. And they have courses for every type of golfer- pros and first-times. In fact, you don’t even have to be a golfer. The courses are delightful even for spectators (which we were for the most part).

Ride the Whirlpool Aero Car

This historic ride takes you a good 3,500 ft above the Gorge and right on top of the iconic Niagara Whirlpool. Once there, you get an unobstructed view of the mesmerizing giant teal swirl. Of course, you get to enjoy all the other stunning views too, but the whirlpool is the highlight.

Experience Niagara’s Fury in a 4D Motion Theatre

As the name suggests, this is a multi-sensory depiction that takes you back to the last Ice Age, when the gorge was formed. With low temps and trembling floors, this 4D movie makes for a pretty amazing experience.

Snag a few collectables

You know those cute souvenir shops- Table Rock Centre General Store and Queen Victoria Place Gift Shop? Well, they house more than just Niagara mugs and the best maple sweets. You’ll find some seriously cool hoodies, beautiful jewellery, classy decor pieces and a lot more.
