Toronto is getting free waterfront concerts on Canada Day weekend

More free concerts are coming our way this month! Locals will be treated to an entire lineup of free concerts at the Harbourfront Centre on Canada Day weekend to kick off their summer programming.

Harbourfront Centre will be hosting a variety of cultural festivals and performances throughout the season, and the fun begins with a long weekend lineup of shows from incredible headliners.

The lineup includes a free concert by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra featuring Broadway star Jewelle Blackman on Canada Day.

“The July long weekend will be filled with free performances by JUNO award-winning rock band The Strumbellas, Crystal Shawanda, the Toronto All-Star Big Band, and many more,” says Harboufront.

Other performers of the weekend include Canadian folk singer-songwriter Cat Clyde, Southern African group IZimba Arts, Toronto-based band Polky, poet provocateur Janice Jo Lee, Celtic fusion band Inn Echo, Lula All Stars salsa dancers and INCIRQUE performers.

Plus, the area will be “bustling with art, comedy, food, and activities for kids” all weekend long.

That includes bead art painting inspired by Métis beadwork, body percussion workshops, and 3-D art classes.

Later this summer, visitors can look forward to popular returning events including Island Soul Festival, Tirgan 2023, Hot and Spicy, Habari Africa, and TAIWANfest!

It’s going to be an eventful summer at Harbourfront, and the fun begins this Canada Day weekend.
