Dare to descend: This Alberta cave expedition will scare you silly this Halloween

Feeling extra brave this spooky season? If haunted houses just don’t do it for you anymore, you might be looking in the wrong place for a scare. This Halloween go underground with Canmore Cave Tours in Alberta for their terrifying ‘Descent’ themed experience.

Inspired by a 2005 film that follows a group of friends who enter a cave system and are later hunted by humanoid creatures, this event is sure to give you the chills, especially if you’re claustrophobic.

All aboard: This Alberta steam train ride & drone show will be a magical way to end the season

Your evening will start from the Canmore Cave Tours office and begin right away with a brief and eerie overview.

After singing a waiver, you’ll watch the first segment of the movie and believe us, you’ll want to take mental notes.

This is described as an opportunity to mentally prepare for what’s to come before you gear up, hike to, and head into Rats Nest Cave.

The underbelly of Alberta’s iconic Grotto Mountain, these caves are chilly, dark, and deep – the perfect place to incubate a feeling of dread.

If you can handle it, you’ll be underground for approximately 3 hours so dress warm, leave the kids at home (this is an 18+ event) and stay alert.

You never know what could be lurking in the shadows.

Good luck and happy caving!
