Roads are busier, stores are fuller, bars are louder. Toronto sure is starting to feel like home again. And reclaiming its pre-pandemic glory, the city is bringing back the summer festival season (YAY!!). Get ready for epic street parties, live bands and concerts, incredible eats and all things fun and fab.

Kicking off the season with a bang is the iconic supercar rally, Gumball 3000. Car geek or not, you’re likely familiar with the star-studded rally. But just in case you aren’t, this should help: the Ultimate Guide to the Gumball 3000 in Toronto!

The supercars along with the superstar participants will start arriving in The 6ix by 10 am on May 27. But the real celebrations kick off in the evening with a major street party and a free live concert at Yonge-Dundas Square headlined by deadmau5 and other special guests. The following day, David Hasselhoff (yes, The Hoff himself) will wave the flag at midday. Here are some ways to take your Gumball 3000 weekend to the next level!

Experience TO’s culinary bliss (and those breathtaking rooftop views)

Before the show, take advantage of Toronto’s elevated culinary experiences and treat yourself to some incredible meals, delicious cocktails, craft beers and maybe some insane rooftop views. Enjoy an evening tasting imaginative Canadian cuisine and overlooking the spectacular cityscape from the 54th floor at Canoe. Or opt for mouth-watering Japanese-Peruvian delights at Chotto Matte. There are so many bars and restaurants to choose!

Stay close to the action

The best way to take in the action is to be amidst it. So, pack your bags and move into one of the many great hotels near Yonge-Dundas Square for the weekend, or a night at the very least. Of course, your stay can be as extravagant or as budgeted as you’d like it to be thanks to all the hotel options in the area.

Head to the after-party at Rebel

After the (free!) killer street party at Yonge-Dundas Square, Deadmau5 will continue to get you moving on the dance floors of Rebel. And we suggest making a head-turning entry in a full-service, luxe limo.

Take yourself on a post-party yacht tour

Just because the stars and their spectacular rides have left town, doesn’t mean you can’t still treat yourself like royalty. Make the most of the day in Toronto by the water. Even better: enjoy the stunning views of the city from a chartered yacht. You can check out Gone Sailing Adventures to find a sailing beaut that matches your taste.

Load up on Gumball swag

What’s a Gumball 3000 fan without sporting some gorg Gumball 3000 swag, eh? From caps and sunglasses to jackets and race suits to books, Hot Wheels and keychains, you’ll find some seriously cool stuff on the Gumball website. Or if you’d rather pick some in person, there will be a kiosk at Yonge-Dundas Square.
