SKATE THE BOULEVARD AT DEERFOOT CITY

Deerfoot City has really shaken things up this year and turned their iconic boulevard into a 100-foot synthetic skating rink decked out in Christmas lights. Book your time and grab a date and get your skate on. And don’t worry if you forgot your mittens because there are amenities all around you. And what do you think? Tacos or burgers afterwards?

FIND THE BEST CHRISTMAS LIGHT HOMES IN CALGARY

This website has a map to show you the best communities with Christmas light displays. Throw some hot cocoa in a to-go mug, blast the Christmas tunes and drive around to see all the fantastic lights our neighbours and friends put up.

CUT DOWN YOUR OWN CHRISTMAS TREE

Head just outside the city near powder face to the Junior Forest Wardens Christmas Tree Cutting Lot. We can’t think of a more Canadian experience than this. You can cozy up around the campfire and really make a day of it. Fill your home with quite honestly the best smell in the world for a lot less money than you’d expect because permits are just $5! TUBING AT WINSPORT

Scheduled to open December 19 the Tube Park is quickly becoming something we all look forward to each year. Fly down the hill and get your endorphins going with this favourite local activity. Time for some fresh air and loads of fun!

CHECK OUT THE ICE MAGIC FESTIVAL

Running from January 20-31 this annual event is a good way to have some winter fun after the holidays. The world-class international ice carving competition showcases the best ice carving artists that Canada has to offer. Walking through the winter wonderland you will be amazed at the skilled artist’s designs.
