Double dates can be a ton of fun with the right couple and the right activity. Why wouldn’t you want to see your bae and BFF at the same time!? It sounds like a win-win to us! We’ve teamed up with our friends over at Smoke N’ Fusion to do some double date brainstorming for you. Here are 6 double date ideas for all types of couples!
Smoke N Fusion is a smokehouse serving up international dishes and all types of smoked meats. They are dedicated to building relationships and a community through food and Chef Szostak has created a fun, interactive, friendly atmosphere for all diners. With family-style dishes and meats for everyone (vegan meat too!), make it your next stop for dinner.
Head on over to Purple Perk for one of their MASSIVE homemade cake slices. Our faves are the chocolate cake and carrot cake, but we’re easy to please. If cake isn’t on your mind, they have a bunch of other homemade goodies, a full menu, and coffee. Grab a comfy booth, indulge your sweet tooth, and have low key date in this community favourite.

Stroll through the Glenbow Museum’s new exhibit, Vivian Maier: In Her Own Hands, as you go back in time and experience what city life was like back in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Her works include city life as she walked countless miles in tons of locations. Make this extra fun by setting up a scavenger hunt! The couple who loses pays for dessert! If you’re sitting at the chef’s island at Smoke N’ Fusion, you’re bound to have a fun, interactive, and dang tasty meal. It’s a perfect double date experience for foodies. The chef’s island faces the kitchen, where you’ll feel the heat and experience the behind the scenes action of all the dishes in the making. Chef Kosta might also slip you a few bites, but don’t say we told you that.

If both couples are into adventure, trying new things, and love a physical challenge, rock climbing could be a fun experience! If you’ve never climbed before don’t fret! They welcome first-timers and don’t require bookings. You’ll be able to boulder or use the auto-belay machines with no special training. It’s as much about socializing as it is about fitness. It’s also about noodly forearms, at least for us.

Order a glass of wine or a flight with charcuterie plates and desserts in Calgary’s first urban winery and tasting bar. City & Country sources grapes from wineries around the area and creates small production wines. Everything is done by hand in the facility at the back of the tasting bar. Their wines are vegan, gluten-free and have no added colours, flavours or sugars. Not that we should really need to convince you to have a wine night!
