Guide: 5 natural hot springs you can still visit in Washington

The cold months may be here but that doesn’t mean that you have to be a hermit. In fact, there’s plenty to safely do outside right now! And one of our favorite cold-weather activities is visiting a natural hot spring. Washington has a few that are still accessible to the public, so with that in mind, here are 5 natural hot springs you can visit in Washington.

Goldmyer Hot Springs

This hot spring has a history dating back thousands of years. And in recent times it has come to be one of Washington’s most loved natural hot springs. Due to COVID-19, the hot spring has reduced capacity and you need to call to reserve a month in advance.

Where: Goldmyer Hot Springs Trail, North Bend, WA
Cost: $20

Olympic Hot Springs

This hot spring is truly off the beaten path and it’s located in the Olympic National Forest. Plus it is not maintained by the park so using it comes at your own risk. Additionally, be aware that parts of the park may close due to weather and/or COVID-19.

Where: Olympic National Park

Scenic Hot Springs

This hot spring has a natural source but you’ll have to enjoy the water in artificial pools. That being said, this spot has one of the best views in the entire PNW. Plus, you’ll get it all to yourself because it’s on private property and you have to make a reservation before going.

Gamma Hot Springs

We’re going to cap the list with this one because you might never get to it. Gamma Hot Springs existence is almost mythical and very few people actually get to it. So if you’re looking for the ultimate challenge this winter, this might just be it.

So with that, in mind, be sure to ask around because your friends might just know of a few extra spots.
