From Bridgette Bar and Ricardo’s to Pigeonhole and National, the Calgary hospitality group Concorde has spoiled us with hotspots, gems, and tasty favourites. This spring, in celebration of better days ahead, they’ll be hitting us with one of their most anticipated projects yet, The Major Tom Bar on Stephen Avenue.

’40 floors above it all,’ Major Tom will offer diners not only an incredible menu but an unparalleled view of the inner city.

Major Tom Bar

Located on the 40th-floor of the revamped Stephen Avenue Place, The Major Tom Bar will be sitting above another Concorde favourite, National on 8th, when that finishes completion as well. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Natty patio days to return this summer.

Though they’ve kept pretty hush-hush about Major Tom Bar, this sky-high eatery is rumoured to be Concorde’s newest pride and joy with big panoramic windows, a killer cocktail menu, and solid kitchen staff with years of experience; one of which they’ve spent just waiting for their grand opening.

You see, according to the Globe and Mail, the restaurant has actually sat completed and ready overlooking YYC for over a year now.

Unfortunately, due to COVID, their original launch date in the spring of 2020 came and went without so much of a sneak peek and was postponed until this spring.

Now, with lifted restrictions and mass vaccinations on their way, Concorde has begun teasing the 2021 opening of The Major Tom Bar and we couldn’t be more excited.

For more information as it rolls in, keep checking back with us! In the meantime, why not give them a follow on their Instagram here! You’re going to want to keep your eye on this one, folks!
