Will Alberta see an early spring? Balzac Billy made his Groundhog Day prediction & here’s what to expect

Does a day like today seem familiar? We’re feeling it too, but that’s just because another Groundhog Day celebration in Alberta has come and gone!

Prepare yourselves, Wild Rose Country, because Balzac Billy has made his 2024 prediction and unfortunately, it looks like we could see another six weeks of winter.

These Alberta restaurants have been named among the most romantic in Canada

Surrounded by an adoring audience at Blue Grass Nursery, human-sized rodent, Balzac Billy did see his shadow – but the province is not alone!

Famed puppet, Manitoba Merv and Canada’s most unusual-looking ‘groundhog’, Lucy the Lobster, also saw their shadows this morning.

Wiarton Willie in Ontario, Fred La Marmotte (Jr.) in Quebec and Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia, however, predicted an early spring for their respective provinces.

Disappointed? We are too, but don’t fret! Alberta is always ready and can handle anything.

It looks like the cold is here to stay, but that just means we could get an extended ski season.

Here’s to chills, thrills and even more time to binge whatever show you’re watching right now.
