This waterfall tour in Ontario takes you to 8 stunning hidden cascades

Can’t get enough waterfalls? If you want to cross even more majestic cascades off your bucket list this summer, then you have to check out the Grey County Waterfall Tour.

This self-guided tour will take you to some lesser-known waterfalls, some of which you’ve probably never heard of before.

They may be more off-beat, but they are equally as beautiful as Ontario’s most popular falls.

“Where the water and rocks meet, feel the rush as the river flows over the escarpment’s edge,” says a description of the tour by the Grey County tourism website.

“So appealing that they merit their own tour, these special places are often just a short drive or hike from busy roads.”

The tour spans 150 km, and it’s the perfect activity for a weekend — plus, it’s an excuse to spend a night or two in one of the charming small towns along the way.

The tour will take you to the breathtaking Eugenia Falls, which is one of the highest in eastern Canada.

You’ll also pay a visit to “one of Grey County’s best-kept secrets,” Hoggs Falls, the horseshoe-shaped Indian Falls, the historic Inglis Falls with ruins of a historic gristmill, and a trail that will take you to two waterfalls in one hike.

Below is a list of all the cascades on the Grey County Waterfall Tour:

  • Eugenia Falls
  • Hoggs Falls
  • Holstein Dam
  • Indian Falls
  • Inglis Falls
  • Jones Falls
  • McGowan Falls
  • Weaver’s Creek Falls

Online, you can also find the Winter Waterfall Guide, which allows you to safely navigate your way to frozen falls in the area.

However, these trails may not be maintained in the winter months, so explore at your own risk!

While summer is still in full swing, now is the most ideal time of year to see these sights in all their glory.
