It’s no secret that Wild Rose Country is a beautiful place, but there are several cities and towns, like Grande Cache, Alberta, that are wildly underrated.
Located northwest of Hinton, this stunning hamlet is surrounded by 21 mountain peaks and two river valleys that guests can explore year-round.
Here, you can grab a bite to eat, stay the night, or browse their many small shops and boutiques – but that’s hardly all!
As you can imagine, the area is best known for its outdoor experiences.
“Escape into a land of sparkling lakes, rushing rivers, green valleys, and windswept peaks,” explains the Municipal District of Greenview.
“There is something for everyone; photographers, artists, golfers, rafters, kayakers, hikers, bikers, paddlers, horseback riders, cross-country skiers, fishermen and hunters alike.”
Sound like a dream come true? Those who love nature should not overlook areas like the Labyrinth, an impressive meditation park meant to quiet your mind or the unspoiled Wilmore Wilderness Park.
Found just minutes from the hamlet, this forest is defined by “ancient glaciers, high mountain peaks” and untamed woodlands.
