Google Canada is on a mission to give small businesses #ALittleHelpfromGoogle! And if there was ever a perfect example of figurative speech, this one would have to be it. Because frankly, what they are doing can in no way be termed “little” help.

To give you some context— Google Canada launched the A Little Help From Google initiative this holiday season. The idea is to support and give a boost to small businesses that have faced tough times in the past couple of years. How they extended support is what makes the initiative epic.

Google recently invited 22 Canadian small businesses who have set up shop at one of Canada’s most iconic Christmas markets, Distillery Winter Village. If you’ve been there, you would know that while the market is in Toronto, it is home to vendors from coast to coast.

So, these businesses were rounded up on the pretext of a health and safety meeting. But what Google had in store for them was a big gesture of giving.

Google gifted each of the 22 businesses $10,000 to cover rental and other operating expenses. Told ya, it wasn’t little!

To further give small business sales a boost, Google Canada also released The Ultimate Canadian Small Business Gift Guide. The guide spotlights remarkable gems like Provence en Couleur, Urban Island, Tea Freak Fine Teas, SowSweet Greetings and Floorplay Socks.
