Major news coffee enthusiasts and local business supporters! After announcing that they’d be expanding above and beyond, Alberta-born Good Earth has kick-started its massive partnership with Indigo, which will see the brand occupy several shops across Canada (all of which are vacant Starbucks locations.)

Founded in Calgary, this laid-back coffeehouse serves ethically sourced sips, sandwiches, as well as baked goods and has grown from a 403 favourite to a Canadian force to be reckoned with.

For this reason, it made perfect sense to first launch its first of many in-store shops in the city where it was established in 1991.

“We are so pleased to be opening our first retailer location and being Calgary born it’s only fitting to open our first location with Indigo at the Chapters in our home city,” says Nan Eskenazi, Founder of Good Earth Cafes Ltd said in a release.

“We look forward to providing Indigo guests across the county with a place to gather and enjoy a cup of coffee and some good food.”

This inaugural location is located in Chinook Centre – arguably the busiest mall in Calgary – with others to follow in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Halifax, Winnipeg and Southwestern Ontario.

It is important to clarify, however, that Good Earth will not be replacing all in-store Starbucks locations in Canada – just those that are currently unoccupied.

Several locations will still feature the world-renowned chain, giving you options on your caffeine-fueled literature hunt.

“We’re excited to partner with Good Earth Coffeehouse to bring their elevated experience to our customers,” said Peter Ruis, CEO of Indigo.

“With aligned core values of quality, a commitment to sustainable practices, and bringing people together, it could not be a more natural fit. Good Earth prides itself in being a community coffeehouse with good food, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer our customers an opportunity to enjoy the space and connect with one another while they shop with us.”
