Ontario has a scenic beach boardwalk & it’s in ‘Canada’s prettiest town’

Scenic strolls don’t get better than this. The gorgeous town of Goderich has a boardwalk trail that connects to various beaches and it’s totally worth a visit.

Goderich, Ontario is a small coastal town situated on bluffs with a gorgeous view of Lake Huron.

The town is known for its almost turquoise-blue beaches (three in fact) and a very charming historic downtown.

How charming is it, you ask? Well, Queen Elizabeth II once called it “the prettiest town in Canada.”

The boardwalk trail extends 1.5 kilometres along the waterfront, with an ice cream pit stop at the end of it.

The pathway is over 10 feet wide and offers front-row views of the beautiful “must-see” beaches along Lake Huron.

Goderich’s three beaches are Main Beach, St. Christopher’s Beach, and Rotary Cove Beach.

Along the way, you will pass by the historic Beach Street Station restaurant, the beach hut, and the cove with tasty food for purchase.

You can also enjoy the iconic sunsets from all the beaches or any of the 13 viewpoint parks at the top of the bluff.

One of those parks is the breathtaking Point Farms Provincial Park.

Perched on the bluff, the park offers spectacular views of the glittering water and beautiful sunsets over the lake.

There are many fun activities for the whole family at this park, including a large sandy beach with good swimming, 6 km of hiking trails, playgrounds, and playing fields.

There’s even a pet-friendly area, so you can bring your pup along for the adventure.

Summer weekends are all about those day trips to the beach, and at the Goderich boardwalk trail, you can hit up several at once!
